Breakfast: Sweetened galette with bacon.
Lunch: 3 slices beef, 1 crab stick.
Dinner: chicken tikka with cottage cheese.
Well, things have been going well. Still no cravings. Tummy still a little unsettled but not so bad as yesterday.
BGs are really coming down during the day. Got as low as 3.9 in the evening time so I ended up making up some no added sugar instant whip type stuff. Very yummy treat and only 4g carbs per packet (which is supposed to be 4 portions - I ate most of it.....). Going shopping tomorrow to make sure that I've got some emergency biscuits in the house in future but in the meantime, will reduce my medication in the morning.
That means that I'm back on just one Gliclazide per day with my Metformin, as opposed to the four per day that I was on to try to improve BGs. That will please the diabetic team, although I'm not sure that they approve of such an extremely low carb diet. Ah well. I may have to increase the meds again, after Friday, when I start eating vegetables with my protein on the Cruise phase.
I'm pretty sure that these emergency carbs will stop me from losing weight today but hey ho, got to stay safe. Besides, I think at some point it will all even out and I'll lose some extra weight another day.
My Dear Husband (DH) expressed concern that I would lose too much weight and become too thin (he prefers curvy ladies). I reassured him that with more than 5 stone to lose, I don't think there's any danger of taking it too far, JUST yet!
